Happy List! – April 12, 2011

Things that make me happy… RIGHT NOW!

Hot Frosted Cherry Pop-Tarts

I never toast Pop-Tarts. Ever. It’s just a thing. Once I discovered, as a teen, that brown sugar cinnamon Pop-Tarts tasted delicious right out of the package, I got lazy. I lived off them in college, and they are still my PT of choice. (Though I really have enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie dough ones… and s’mores… and… well, you get it.)

Yesterday, whilst browsing the cereal/granola aisle at the grocery store, the frosted cherry Pop-Tarts caught my eye. The very first Pop-Tarts I ate as a kid were the frosted cherry kind, always toasted. Call it nostalgia, if you will, but I found myself reaching for this slice of my childhood. This morning, I toasted, for the first time in ages, a frosted cherry Pop-Tart and, as predicted, became a kid again.

I love sense memory.

Teaching with a co-worker (Yes, again, and a NEW one to boot!)

Today was the first day of Lego Engineering spring term at another new school. When my list came across e-mail this morning, I noted that there would be two of us teaching at the school (two different levels of courses). It is always nice to not feel so alone out there in the world of traveling after school enrichment teaching. It’s doubly as nice when he helps you get all the Legos back out to your car! Fist bump Eli! 🙂

Coconut bathwater milkshakes

Sure, it sounds gross, and it most certainly would be if fit for human consumption, but the fact that my 7 year old niece still likes to make me fake concoctions of bathwater deliciousness makes me smile. Imagination rules.

Take a silly, imagination filled bath, and keep thinking of the things that make YOU smile! 🙂

  1. My happy thing today is afternoon naps! Sure, I was exhausted from coughing and sneezing, but there’s something about sleeping whenever you want (say, from 6-8pm) that is just so satisfying 🙂
